Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

Bottled. Aroma is citric, hoppy, grapefruity, some caramel. Amber coloured beer with an off-white, lasting head. The taste is quite bitter, slight sweet touch, has citrus, pine, some caramel. Nicely balanced and complex.

22 oz. bomber. Poured deep crimson with an egg-white head. Solid lacing. Smells like a fresh cut christmas tree. Very complex flavor with resinous pines, juicy citrus fruits and even some cherries. Sweet and malty with great balance. Not overly tongue stripping. Dangerously drinkable. Delicious!

Thanks trevor211 for sharing. Pretty red pour with chunky white head. Smells like a fresh pine wreath... lovely! hoppy, holiday spiked IPA/red/barleywine (?). Heavy on tongue and coating, very nice hopping. Ruby, fruity malt and great flavor.

Pours a murky reddish orange with a thin sudsy foamy off-white head. Sweet sugary piney aroma, lots of fridge/ambrosia/pineapple/marshmallow likeness, toasted caramel, bitter resin. Very chewy stuff, yet light and fluffy in the mouth, a bit oily, flavors of sugary caramelized powdered milk, hint of juicy pineapple, resiny bitter green pine needles, some sugared grapefruit, and marshmallows. Not really any attempt at balance and not nearly as hoppy as I was hoping. I can’t say that I’m all that impressed and I’m a little confused as to this and Summer YuleSmith’s super high ratings? I wonder if my bottle is a left-over from last year =/ grrrrr

This is excellent. Full sweet malt with strong juicy hops. Pours a deep copper with off-white head, good sticky lacing. Caramel malt, cherries, citrus, orange peel, tropical fruit, bitter hops, floral notes, and pine. MMmmmmm tasty.
