Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

Pours amber with a disappearing tan head. The aroma is fruity and hoppy with a heavy dose of caramel. Very malty. The flavor is sweet, full of dark fruit, caramel, and toffee with a hop bite at the end. Well balanced and super tasty. The alcohol is well hidden. This one exceeded my expectations. All the best qualities of a winter warmer and an exceptional IIPA all rolled into one.

Bomber (shared as instructed by bottle). Pours an unclear crimson with a two-finger creamy, tan head that has good retention and lacing. Nose is stale DIPA: strawberry cheesecake, nutty, piney, spicy hops. Same with the taste. Lots of spruce and pine needles. Needs to be fresher to really see why this is raved about. Great palate though as this has an incredible pine needle bitterness throughout but is creamy rather than harsh in the mouthfeel. Boring. A massive piney hop bomb.

aged approximately one year.huge cotton candy head. appearance is deep ruby red. nose is gigantic toffee bomb, crunchy and slick, deep and sweet. flavor is wondrous balance...huge toffee is smoothed out substantially by hops hardly found in the nose. dark, strong pine is chewy and delicious. palate lingers, bitterness especially. this is the definition of a successful big beer and the epitome of a great ASA

Pours a murky reddish brown with a huge fluffy head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is alcohol, prunes, raisins, and a bit of sweet perfume. Taste is caramel, dark fruit, and a touch of citrus hops at the end. Smooth full-bodied, malt-driven beer.

Split with Pwn3d... more like the harbinger of death rather than good tidings! This beer can definitely kill a lumberjack. Pours a slightly cloudy, rich mahagony leaving 1 finger of foamy white head. The nose is a bit fruity, but I gather its from the use of sugars rather than actual fruit. Very heavy body, uber high esters, yeats, malts... no way you could session a beast like this. Honestly think this is overrated, it felt like beer concentrate: high ratio of ingredients, not enough water. Good, but is this really the #2 in the style?!

bomber split with CUJO.. a lot of things going on, almost like ultra condensed beer. Mega hoppy and mega malty. Candi sugars and burning. Spice and esters all over the place. Some dark fruits.

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Copper brown with a light offwhite head. Raisins and citrussy hoppiness combined with raisins flavours. Noticeable alcohol and dry throughout. Quite light body. Very nice.
