Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

22 oz bottle poured into a trappist glass has a red amber color with a thick beautiful tan frothy head. aroma has sweet caramel malt, delightful hops, pine, and fruit. flavor has lots of hop character with thick pine and citrus. malt is also plentiful bringing sweetness and light bitters. the flavor is well balanced and does have spice and pepper. finishes with malted bitterness and a flavor that stays on the tongue. nice and chewy and seemed to get thicker as the bottle was consumed.

Bottled. Thx rlgk. Deep, dark amber with a huge, off-white head. Sweet, malty, hoppy, grassy with floery elderberries.

Bottle. Pours red amber with a very long lasting, creamy beige head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity with notes of grapefruit, pine needles and caramel. Medium, prickly body. Flavor is grapefruit, pine needles, and caramel. Nice.

Gusher! Sweet malty/friuty aroma on this one. Pours a cloudy orange color with thin white head. Tastes of sweet fruit and malt. Nice long hoppy finish. Would drink again.

Bomber. Pours an attractive red-amber with some white head. Aroma very sweet and malty, flavor the same. Very caramel-y and thick. I feel like this beer just has too much malt body to it with nowhere near enough hops bitterness to counteract. It’s tasty, but just too sweet for me, and I had a hard time drinking any more than a swallow every 10 minutes. It’s good, just not my thing.

Bubbly hazy reddish brown with foamy off-white thick head that coats glass as it thins. Strong hoppy aroma. Warm, dry, smooth bitter hoppy maly taste. Reminds me of a drier version of Dogfish Head 90.

Pours a real hazy red amber with fizzy white head. Aromas of HOPS like crazy! Citrus and pine are also present. Flavor is all hops. If your not into ipa’s, dont even consider this guy. Really dry finish, but tolerable. Intense hop flavor with a good balance.

Absolutely incredible. Courtesy of Sparky27. Pours a cloudy reddish color with a off white creamy head. Aroma is mostly citrus. Tastes of grapefruit, candied sugar, caramel, and sweet hop. Palate is absolutely enjoyable, and finishes clean. I can drink this any time of year. Got to get my hands on the summer ale.
