Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

Bottle, free (!) from pantanap. Thanks! Pours a bronze-ish color with medium head and medium lacing. Aroma is caramel, vanilla and hops. Taste is more caramel and hops, along with spice, dates, banana and candied citrus. Very nice sipping beer.

Bomber. Big aromas of sweet roasted malt and floral(?) hop. Dark coppery color with a four finger, slightly rocky head. Medium body with very mild carbonation. Rather slick feel. Principal flavor is roasted malt, but there is some hop involved. Finish is less sweetness and more hop. A little heat down the throat. Pretty tasty. Not sticky. Close thing though.

Bottle. Pours a rusty amber with a poufy head that clings to the glass. Aroma is sweet with brown sugars and maltiness. There is some sweet breadiness and a mild hop scent. Taste is sweet with a touch of hops and a generous alcohol bite. Dry and smooth.

Huge thanks to Ucusty for this brew!!! Bottle. Aroma is just amazing with notes of raisin, fig, plum, dried dark fruits, caramel, apple, and alcohol. Large off-white frothy head that mostly lasted and left great lace. Deep red/amber/brown murky hue. Flavor is just amazing. Dark ripe fruit with caramel, port, red wine, spice, licorice, and finishes mildly bitter. Amazing. Palate is medium bodied and softly carbonated. Finish lingers just a little too long. Just a beautiful brew that impressed in all categories. The only hit it takes is with the aftertaste that lingers just a bit too long but I won’t knock it down for that. I think this beer could age very well.

22 Oz bottle. This Holiday Ale was absolutely fantastic. Poured a robust red with a nice head. The malty hop aroma was a nice appetizer to the well balanced hop malted flavor in the beer. The aftertaste was even better. Went back to pick up another bottle but to my disappointment they were all gone. I went to the brewery to pick up a bottle, they were all out. Next winter, cannot come soon enough. I will make sure to stock up with multiple bottles. This is a must have beer in your refrigerator.

Bottle at no royce the last thing you need right now is more storm tasting. Alround rating: Caramalt, citrus, grassy hop, more balanced than its brother(summer) however i believe this was a ’05 bottle and had probably lost quite a bit of its hop character. Tasty stuff.

Bottle at Magic_dave6’s disco dance tasting. Cloudy red with a thick beige head. Nose is hazy with some barrel wood. Hoppy. Mouth is warm, slightly acetic, some grass in there. Good, but not defineable in quality.
