Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

From bottle : Pours a semi clear, dark brown with red highlights, and a crazy big white foamy head, that over stays its welcome in my opinion. A spicey, hoppy, bourbon alcoholy nose. Taste has a bitter bite right at the beginning, which is unusual i think, i usually get that toward the end of beers. It has a delightful malty, cinnamon finish, with a touch of alcohol. Medium body and a very smooth palate. A nice fireside sipper for sure.

Sweet brown shugga bourbon nose, maple, brown body and thin head, sweet syrupy molases, brown sugar, mild spices, warming, pretty standard and certainly overated

Tremendous aroma of hops and spices, pours golden with good head and lacing for such a big beer, flavor is very malty with spiciness and hop overtones, delivers a tremendous kick at finish, a sipping beer to be sure

pours a burnt red color with a big, frothy head. aroma is full of hops with a little spice. starts off strong, with rasiny, malt overtones, followed by a finish of cinnamon and citrus. excellent recommendation.

Pours a clear amber color, with a very big frothy cream colored head. Nice lacing. Aroma is very hoppy, with light esters. The flavor is more balanced between hops and malts. Some sweetness and spice. Hoppy beers are not my favorite and with the first smell, I turned up my nose, but after taking a sip I understand the ratings. This is a very good beer. The hops aren’t as present in the flavor and it is very smooth, not at all bitter as I expected.

22 oz. bottle. Pours medium red with generous head. Satisfying aroma does not portend the strength of the flavor. Smooth with an extra kick on the back end. Stands among the other strong, medium colored ales we’ve come to expect from the best microbrews.

Excellent! Full flavored, well finished and warming. It pours a frothy biscuit head with a dark amber cloudy body. You can smell the pleasant mix of yeast and malt. First flavor is warm sweetness, peeling back into the hoppy bitterness. Has a slightly woody flavor.

Aroma is nice, chocolate, raisin, cinnamon, and moderate hops. Pour is a cloudy light amber with some bottle conditioned particles floating around. It tastes like it smells at first, and then finishes on a bitter/sour note. Very yeasty on the finish and could do with some aging to settle down the flavor. Nice creamy texutre.
