Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

Bottle. Well, this is the top rated beer for me. Perfect aromas of moderate straw and roasted for the malts, heavy to harsh smells of perfume, pine (juniper) and orange for the hops, light notes of leather and broth for the yeast, with raspberry in the background. Head is large and frothy, off-white with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy red/brown. Flavor starts moderatetly sweet and acidic, then finishes moderately sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is medium bodied, creamy textured and it has a carbonation between lively and soft. It finishes lightly astringent. I’ve never experienced such a complex yet balanced hop character from any beer. The pine smell reminded me of the woods I was hunting in a day ago.

Pours a murky apricot with a finger of white head that doesnt go away at all. Smells of grapefruit and big caramel malt. Tastes like the DIPA hop explosion at the start but a rediculous amount of malt balances everything out. Alesmith is definitly all about balance. Almost barleywinish in its balance and flavor. Full in the mouth with great carbonation. More than a sipper but still demands a patient consumption.

Bottle shared with Fly, Dewbrewer, Humulone_Red and others. Thanks guys!
Other bottle courtesy of WeeheavySD! Rich deep amber pour with a big lasting creamy head. Big hoppy nose with "red" malt as well. Rich sharp hoppy flavor with a creamy balanced maltiness to it. A touch of alcohol is noticeable, but still nice. Carbonation is a tad high, but I find that to be the case with most of Alesmith’s beers. Nice beer.

22oz bottle from Bevmo Carmel Mountain. Poured a medium amber color with a nice ruby hue. Head was big, rocky, and left great lacing. Big nose of floral hops with some sweet malt in the backdrop.

22 Oz Bomber-f/Secret Santa-Cloudy red color w/a huge foamy tan head which lasts forever. Roasted malt aroma. Floral hop flavor w/roasted malt, toffee, & caramel. Has a trace of spice as well. Got some kick to it. Long, full hop finish. Pretty good stuff. Thanks Santa!

07 bottle. Erupted all over floor when popping the top. That sucked. Lots of hop bite but still a decent balance of malt sweetness. Creamy and thick and a tasty bevy to have by the fireplace this time of year. Tasty times.

2007 bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a thing frothy off-white head. Strong hop aroma with a hint of the alcohol and sweet malty scent like a barleywine. It also has some barleywine-esque flavor qualitiy...Has a thick creamy mouthfeel.
