Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

07 bottle. Erupted all over floor when popping the top. That sucked. Lots of hop bite but still a decent balance of malt sweetness. Creamy and thick and a tasty bevy to have by the fireplace this time of year. Tasty times.

2007 bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a thing frothy off-white head. Strong hop aroma with a hint of the alcohol and sweet malty scent like a barleywine. It also has some barleywine-esque flavor qualitiy...Has a thick creamy mouthfeel.

A wonderfully complex beer. It pours a deep amber brown red color with a lovely heavy frothy tan head. Aroma is of hops and faint christmas spice - maybe a touch of alcohol. The flavour is rich with deep malt tones, syrupy sweet hoppy notes, a smoky cherry/coffee presence, and lots more. The mouthfeel is redicoulously heavy. Just feels smooth and creamy inspite of the hoppy punch. Very well crafted.

Gargantuan sticky head. Hazy orange with chunk of particles floating around. Big floral aroma. Tastes of orange rind and woodiness. Sweet and dry finish. The orange really sits on the tongue once downed.
