RollinHard (749), Fort Worth, Texas, USA May 13, 2007 Pours an attractive slightly reddish brown color with a good sized lasting head. Aroma of some citrus and pine, caramel, gingerbread, and a slightly planty mint. Mellow-yet-bold flavor of caramel, nuts, toffee and some pine/wood and butterscotch. Very smooth, but even smoother on the finish. Well blended finish of hop bitterness, butterscotch, dry wood. Effortless transition from upfront, to finish and through the aftertaste. The most awesome thing about this beer was just how smooth it was. Flavor is good and all, but the smoothness! Man... Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark May 8, 2007 65 cl bottle. Reddish brown colour with a nice light brown head. Lovely aroma of hops, such as citrus, flower and freshness combined with a caramel touch. Lovely flavour of bitter hops, caramel, malt, alcohol and with a very soft bit of hops, but plenty of it. A very lovely Christmas beer, I think it will be nice to serve it to "Risengrød". crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA May 7, 2007 Pours dark amber, medium almond head. Big aroma of sweet malts and christmas spices. Big sweet malts and great christmas like spiciness balanced with all sorts o f hops flavors citrus, floral, leafy, but none being bitter, the bitterness was actually very low. This really was just like Great Lakes Christmas Ale without the spices and more malts and alcohol. Very complex and seriously hard to describe, just every aspect kicked ass and was awesome. nightrider (370), encinitas, California, USA May 7, 2007 Amber color with a medium tan head. Nice aroma of sweet caramel malt and hints of hops. Smooth and velvety on the palate. Deep malt and balanced hop notes without a trace of overpowering alcohol even though 9.5%. Nice sweet and bitter finish. Superb brew presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 25, 2007 Big bottle from San Diego. I have had a couple of these in trade and always sent them on when I felt I was short in a trade. Nice to finally open a bottle. Huge lasting light brown head. Dirty red copper beer. Big grapefruit IPA hop nose. Plenty of malt in a woody base. Alcohol yes but not dominant, felt more in the effect than in the taste. Nicely balanced IIPA. MaxxDaddy (261), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Apr 23, 2007 Bomber courtesy of JCB (thanks!). Poured reddish-amber with sizeable head. Aroma of citrus and pine, along with some malty sweetness. Upon tasting, got a bit of caramel sweetness and some barleywine fruitiness and hop bitterness in the back. Finished bitter, and somewhat thick. Took me a while to get through the whole thing. Certainly a good beer, but I felt like something was missing; perhaps a bit more hoppiness at the end grimreeser (795), Minnesota, USA Apr 22, 2007 Pours amber with a large head. Aroma is citrus with a big malt backbone, some spices. A sugary sweetness balanced by a solid bitterness. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Apr 21, 2007 22 oz bottle, poured a huge head, dark orange red. Smells of citrus and pine, and left a nice lacing. Taste the fruit, citrus and pine. Good stuff.
