Commercial Description:
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle. For the winter season, YuleSmith is brewed as an Imperial Red Ale. This version is maltier, more balanced, and darker in color than the summer version. Although quite malty, big hop flavors and aromas are abundant making this an unforgettable winter warmer. Winter YuleSmith is packaged in traditional holiday red and green. Original Gravity Alcohol by Volume 1.085 9.5%

Pours a copper/amber color with an enormous and thick off-white head. Huge citrus and pine explosion into the nose. Flavor is orange, fruity esters, caramel, pepper, and toasted malt. Finishes long, dry and peppery. Nice warm and chewy mouthfeel.

bomber courtesy of Saarlander, thanks Aaron. my second bottle of this yummy treat, the first was before the two Yulesmiths were separated. I wish I could rate the appearance even higher, one of the most amazingly fluffly, rocky heads I’ve ever seen. flavor is malty with a bit of spice and plenty of hops to add balance to a strong brew with well hidden alcohol. well done

This poured a darker red color almost like Celebration Ale. Little head was present and aroma filled the room with hops. The taste was very hoppy, yet balanced, with a nice clean finish that makes this beer stand out as one of the better IPA's on the market.

Was able to pick up a bomber from AleSmith when I was out there. Pours a reddish brown body. Nice sweet caramel and malty flavor. Nice balance and has some spicy hop notes of pine and grapefruit. AleSmith has such good stuff.

Bomber, from Charles Street Liquors in Boston. Pours a murky apricot with a large off-white head. Aroma is heavy on flowers, tangerine and malt; intense and absolutely seductive. Palate is smooth and creamy, and Yulesmith is a superb balance of malt with hoppy fruitiness. There is butter, caramel, malt, citrus, yuzu, and pine. A bold blend indeed, and potent. Finishes dry, with some booziness and bittering hops. Commendable beer, but I would like a bit more crispness of flavor in my APA/DIPAs. Overall, I’d say this falls behind Arrogant Bastard, but otherwise tops in the style.

Bomber. Pours a reddish brown with a nice foamy head. Aroma of citrus, malt, pine, and hops. The flavor of malt and hops in this one is perfectly balanced. Delicious!

Clear orange body. Aroma of piney hops, almost Christmas tree-like. Flavor is full of more pine and citrus hoppiness and an assertive alcohol character. Biting carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle at Magic_dave6’s disco dance tasting. Cloudy red with a thick beige head. Nose is hazy with some barrel wood. Hoppy. Mouth is warm, slightly acetic, some grass in there. Good, but not defineable in quality.
