Aromas of nice pine and grapefruit hops over some good caramel malts with a touch of sourdough bread. Flavor is good pine and grapefruit but also a lot of pineapple and orange flavors as well. Some caramel backbone to hold it all together. Palate is very barleywine like.. Good body and smooth. I couldn’t find any alcohol in this one... Another fantastic brew by Alesmith.. This brewer never disappoints! ehhdayton (1113), USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Bottle shared by mreusch at the csbosox tasting 7/3. Pours a cloudy caramel brown with a small tan head. Sweet candied hops and caramel on the nose; quite nice. Medium-bodied and creamy with a nice sweet/bitter finish. The flavor follows the nose with caramel and sweet, candied hops leading to a mildly dry and bitter finish. This is a very tasty beer. Thanks again for sharing this one, Matt! gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a musky caramel color, with a flirty wisp of white head, with tons of lacing. Big floral hops in the aroma, mostly grapefruit and other citrus. Big helping of vanilla and malty goodness, too. Flavor-wise, malt hits first, with big biscuit flavors. Hop comes through in the end, with a nice floral kick. Sticky mouthfeel, soft and creamy finish. As easy to drink as a 9.5% beer can get. tangentrider (144), USA
