bhensonb (3008), Woodland, California, USA May 9, 2008 500 ml. can from Trader Joe’s. Light aromas of grain and noble hop. Pale golden color with a two finger head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sweet malt with just enough bitter to balance. This is not strongly flavored, but it is pleasant, and the grassy bitter tends to build as things move along. Doesn’t come near most pilsners, but it certainly doesn’t have the "corn" of many mass products. Buy this if you want a decent, light tasting beer. The head even did a little lacing.
sayravai (3183), Helsinki, Finland Sep 29, 2008 (Bottled, BBE 04/2009) Clear, very pale yellow color with a medium, white head. Aroma of pale malt and cardboard. Slightly sweet, pale-malty flavor with cardboardy sourness. Light-bodied, slightly watery palate with lemonadey carbonation. A really disappointing pils with watery body, cardboardy maltiness, and practically no hops. Reelingsilk (22), Netherlands Sep 9, 2008 Not a good Pilsner I’m sorry to say. No nose to speak of, very little taste. Utterly forgettable. Saarlander (1459), The Saarland, Germany Sep 8, 2008 can bought at trader joes. slight golden colour, Some hops, but mostly a grain flavor. Nothing wrong with it, just abit bland,eh... Straling (32), Amstenrade, Netherlands Sep 5, 2008 Bottle 33cl.
Pours a gold colour with normal size head, like most pilsener.
Aroma is hoppy.
Good taste, nice bitter taste and finish.
Watery in the mouth.
Nice pilsener. Borresteijn (584), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. A very soft and smooth malty and herbal pilsener, nice hops. But all their beers have a very metallic flavour, and I don’t like that at all.
