On tap at the GLB. Very very surprised to see this gem. When I let the cat out of the bag to the folks at the bar this keg was gone fast! I only got one, but man it was enough. Pours a gorgeous brownish color with a white head that recedes quickly. Very oaky and boozy nose. Smells of figs, vanilla, and oak. Flavors are out of this world epic. So smooth, this is worth selling a kidney for. Flavors are slightly nutty, sweet, smoke, wood, and a little funk.

(Draught) Pours a hazy yellow body with a small off-white head. Aroma of wood barrel, vanilla, mustiness, citrus, and earthiness. Flavor of cedar, citrus, Belgian yeast, vanilla, and spices. Excellent!

Tap at Night of the Funk. Had this one a couple times... one of the best beers there. Lots of vanilla and sweet oak in the aroma, some coriander maybe. Very wit-ish. As soon as you take a sip, a wide rush of flavors hit the mouth, including sweet vanilla bourbon, peanut, spices, and Belgian yeasts. Quite nice.

One of the best beers at BBF 08 NOTF. Pours a slightly darker thatn the 10th with a deeper gold, and a thin white head. Aroma is very woody, earthy spices, good earthy yeasty phenolics but not similar to the wit like the 10th- this has changed up a bit. Nice earthy funk lightly horsey and some manure. Woody flavor a bit of alcohol note as it warms, phenolic ligth citrusy lemon, woodsy and dirty earth with some funky must. Nice refreshing acidity in the end but not sour.

Tap sampled on 09/26/08 at Night of the Funk. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus and wood. Flavor of citrusy and piney wood. It tastes like you’re licking a piece of freshly chopped wood. Oh, did I mention that this beer is very woodsy? Very unique, of course, and it didn’t taste bad, but I’m not a beaver, so I don’t really like wood as a flavor per se. Interesting to try but not too drink a lot of.

Tap from 08 Night of the Funk. Aroma of OAK!!! It’s like I’m wood-chipping a tree with a sort of alcoholic citrus working its way in. Flavor more of the alcoholic oranges, less of the wonderful wood, but still tasty. Strong on the wood, but in a good way.
