Allagash Black (with Ginger)

On cask at Novare Res. Pours black somewhat transparent with a foamy head. Looks a lot like standard black, but when you put your nose to it, hang on. Aroma is sweet malt, hints of dark fruits like figs, and a good amount of ginger. Flavor is a lot of dark fruits, the initial bite is yummy Belgian chocolate, then the finish is dominated by ginger flavors. Pretty interesting modification of a nice beer to start.
