| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Don’t get me wrong this was tasty in it’s own right, but I was not wowed by it like I expected to be, and like I have been by most Allagash beers. This was just slightly on the mediocre side for my tastes. Pours a thick bubbly black color, with a surmountable tan head. Comes across very sweet and malty and less expressive on the yeasty side, and turns to be slightly one-dimensional. Very soft and creamy on the palate, and very warming. Decent, but could have been better for the amount of money it costs. cgarvieuk (4183), Edinburgh, Scotland
