Flavor was much better than the aroma. Very roasty with malty chocolaty goodness. Different for a stout because of the belgian yeast. Pretty tasty. Palidor19 (1780), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2009 From a cask at Rattle n Hum. My first reaction was, wow, what is this stuff? Slightly vinous, smoky aroma. It tastes like a dark, roasty bock with a good amount of sweetness and a clean, hoppy close. There are touches of herbs and chocolate too. It is pretty complex and develops nicely on the palate. A very interesting and enjoyable brew. cbkschubert (1989), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
