On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 08/12/2009. Fairly clear copper body with a medium frothy off-white head. Sweet smoke and light caramel aroma. Sweet smoke and light caramel flavor. Well balanced smokiness. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Dec 21, 2009 pint @ Publick House Brookline. Good aroma, if you like smoke, though a sweet streak about it too. Brownish orange color, small head, no lace, Smokey sweet flavor, vanilla, chocolate, little meaty, Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter smoke finish. Pretty much all smoke, occasional other things I mentioned, as long as you like one sided smokiness it’s good, if not you might not be as happy....

Appearance: murkey burnt orange, huge stiff beige head that is just begging to be carved into cute animal figures
Aroma: sweet and smokey aroma, caramel sweetness, woody smokeyness, light earthyness
Flavor: flavor starts of with some sweet caramel before the big smokeyness kicks in to turn it dry and earthy, light spicyness follows the woody character from the smoke

Dec 14, 2009 Draft from Rattle and Hum. Poured a dark copper with minimal head. Smokey aroma, a bit sweet to taste. Pretty decent stuff.

Nov 30, 2009 Appearance: Served up an opaque, mahogany-hued body with an expansive, meringue-like, off-white head.
Smell: After a busy, hurry-scurry holiday weekend, it’s real nice to just sit down and enjoy a new beer from the folks at Alla--GAH! Sweet, merciful Jesus, what is this concoction? Sure, there’s smoke, but there’s also the most clear cut, pungent scent of band-aids, by far the most fierce I’ve encountered in a beer. Oh, how it stings the nostrils!
Taste: Amazingly intense, distilled taste of band-aids marked by a sharp smokiness. Sadly, any actually amiable tastes of caramel and burnt sugar are a far, far, far distant third to these two flavors. And it’s all rather medicinal. Frankly, it was rather difficult to get down.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Well carbonated.
Drinkability: Ugh! I went from excited for having stumbled across this beer to horrified and disappointed real damn quickly.

Nov 29, 2009 On tap at the brickstore. Probably should not have started with this one. Any smoke is a bit of a palate wrecker. Aroma is charcoal and ash and the flavor is dominated by the smoke and chewy meat flavors. There is a little bit of red fruit working in all of this. You get a bit of a sense of a sweetness working as well but it does not leave that sticky feeling on your lips. Very interesting but not sure if I would reach for this again.

Nov 25, 2009 Tap at Blue Dog. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium creamy off white head that left lacing. Aroma of nail polish remover, phenol, smoked meats, caramel and toastedalt. Flavor of smoked meats, burnt wood, peppery notes and malt.

Nov 18, 2009 Updated: Dec 2, 2009A nice smokey ale. Roasted malt aroma rises from a dark amber pour. Medium off-white head. Flavor has strong notes of coffee and burnt malt. Sweet and bitter sensations, which persist in in the aftertaste. And band-aids. This beer has a strong odor and taste of band-aids (or what I imagine band-aids would taste like based on their odor), which is not a bad thing in this case. Interesting and pretty solid
