| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 7, 2009 750ml bottle. Hazy gold pour with a nice lacing white head. Sweet and spicy aroma, more spice and with that distinctive belgian yeast aroma. Odd flavor, not what I was expecting, very smooth, very creamy, slight spiceiness with a kind of stale hoppiness in the finish, pretty good, but not for the price. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Sampled during Deliriumfest’s Graduation tasting in Maplewood, MN and shared by Deliriumfest. From a 22-oz bomber pours a hazy golden pale colored brew with a creamy white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of dark pitted fruits, a hint of wheat malt, some yeast, candi sugar, and a touch of cloves. Taste is full bodied, some carbonation with flavors of yeast, golden grain malt with wheat, some pitted fruits, a hint of Brett, candi sugar and some citrus zest. Finish is semi-sweet with a white pepper and candi sugar aftertaste. Lots of character in this Belgian ale. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Bottle from SL, another nice one for Ally! The pour was golden to amber in color, large fluffy pillowy head, rings of lacing on down. The aroma was pilsy malts, light fruits, bready yeast. The flavor followed, some strong white grapes, firm pilsy malt backbone (a bit too much for my personal liking, but if you like pils malts, this was strongly pilsed and Belgian!), strong floral hop notes, bready yeast, and a great bret-y tart finish to each sip. A very nice Belgian Ale, some spicey/citrusey zing to the finish too. LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA
