Draft at 3 Penny Taproom - Poured a pretty golden yellow in color with a small white head that faded to thin covering over the beer. Aroma is very fruity with bready yeast. Flavor is thick with bready yeasts, fruits (green apple), light citrus, slight alcohol and floral hops. The bourbon/vanilla from the aging process is just the barest hint in the flavor profile. One of the best Tripels I’ve had... excellent!

golden color and flavor. by that i mean belgian golden ale of course, but with a lot of bourbony-alchl character and even a hint of wood. it’s easy to drink too much of this as it goes down easy for its high alchl.

Pours yellow with a light head. Perhaps a sweet smell but The aroma was weak. Tastes like keg beer to me. I can’t taste bourbon. It isn’t bad but nothing great. It is strong so two glasses later this tastes just fine. I won’t be buying it a second time.

Saved this bottle to share with DrBayern, Celticbrew, Brian the Beer Pimp, Uncle Tom and the Newbies, Lawyer Bob and The Boy Wonder Chris. Has a sweet Aroma. Pours a yellowish color, and was somewhat cloudy. The flavor of the bourbon was light but nice. You can taste the oak in this beer.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Bourbony aroma, with yeast and apple skins. The flavor has a nice deep sweet bourbon presence, as well as notes of wood, yeast, and spices. Pretty unique and quite enjoyable.

From bottle. Very clear orange/golden colour with a thin white lace which clings to the glass. Medium carbonation. Crisp fruity aroma, citrus and oranges. Hints of malt and caramel. Flavour is sharp and acidic. A little sour yet has a smooth malt whisky finish. The beer settles to a rather pleasant supping ale. The bourbon seeps its way through to the forefront.

750->tulip: Purchased directly @ the brewery in Portland, ME. Pours a huge, white, frothy head that exhibits excellent lacing atop a hazy, orange body. Aroma of butterscotch and a bite of something that I can’t discern. Heavily alcoholic mouthfeel, medium body, a good bit sweet and a short flavor duration. A very nice beer indeed.

A: It pours a wonderful reddish yellow color with brown highlights. There is a steady stream of bubbles to keep a half finger head present. Leaves behind a nice pattern of lace. S: Oh yes, I held this one back for a special occasion and I have the feeling it is going to be worth the wait. The marriage of America and Belgium. Bourbon and Beer. Smoke, Vanilla, and Malty Fruity Sweetness. Oh my! T: This is what I have been waiting for. WOW! This is one fine triple. If that is all we had I would be raving about it, then BAM, Smoke Oak, and Vanilla...Tennessee Bourbon Baby. Oh yeah this one is barrel aged and let me tell you the ageing did wonders. The bourbon taste makes this beer almost too complex to process. There is a perfect match of beer and liquor. It is absolutely AMAZING with the ribs cooked we over charcoal and hickory! M: Drinks like a Triple kicks like a bourbon on the rocks. A perfect sipping beer.

Has a nice woody, vanilla aroma with slight floral notes. This beer, being a tripel, stands up nice to the aging in oak barrels. IT definitely takes on a nice woody character in the taste, with the whiskey notes coming through but it is not overbearing. I am not huge on tripels as a rule but this one with the added dimension of the bourbon barrel aging is quite nice. Moderate carbonation, nice mouthfeel. Especially good with a nice cheese (bergeron fr. quebec). Overall a good experience, nothing over the top but very good.
