Jun 14, 2008 I was really disappointed in this beer. It is very syrupy/sticky and too thin, and the flavor is very simple candy sugar and dark malt without much complexity. I don’t think I will buy this again.

Jun 12, 2008 I think I was expecting more from this beer then what was actually delivered. It poured a medium brown colour with a medium sized tan head. Rich in multiple flavors, carmel, cherries, a hint of orange and soft peppery taste. THe aroma was somewhat weak but i picked up oak.

Jun 4, 2008 Updated: Jul 9, 2008Nice beer. Pours a really dark red/brown. Small white head with no real lacing. Yeasty aroma. Solid flavor: dark fruits, clove, yeast, all the usual suspects for the style. Clean, yeasty finish. I dig it.

May 27, 2008 Purchased bottle at Beverages for Less in Santee. A side by side with the Tripple. Flavors of malts and roasted nuttyness. I liked it.

May 25, 2008 bottle. pours a deep brown color with little head. strong malt and nut aromas. very malty and full of dark fruits on the palate... medium body with an average level of complexity. Not all that exciting, but a good beer nonetheless.

May 25, 2008 750ml bottle purchased for 5 bucks.. was mispriced :) Overall disspointed with this. Pour was a fine murky dark brown, excitingly inviting. Aroma malty and candied.. also nice. Flavor.. boring, underdeveloped dark fruit malt thats single focused. For 7% I dont see why there is so much alcohol in the mouth. Dont get me wrong, its a good brew but up against other big boys its shadowed.

May 24, 2008 750ml bottle. Batch 69. Pours a good looking carmel with an off white head. Aromal of malts and clove? What ever it is it smelled very sweet. Tastes of malts with hints of chocolate. It was kind a watery on the mouthfeel. Not thick like i would expect for this much malt. Carbonation was perfect as is the alcohol content. I like this very much.
