| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Bottle Batch #60. Reddish amber colour with a huge head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and little toffee-like. Flavour of roastedness, caramel and very watery. Ends up light bitter. Very dull for a dubbel. Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Pour a dark brown with a big head - you should pour very, very slowly. Nice aroma with a bit of nut and dry fruit coming through. The taste was quite satisfying and I was very impressed by Allagash’s effort. A little light in body. Better as it warmed a little as the full flavor and aroma really came out. Again, I was very impressed with this effort. The flavor was a bit nutty and carmel like. Not quite a Belgian Dubbell but a decent American version. pintocb (510), Darsville, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Dark brown and silky. Khaki head. Faint smell of prunes and bananas. The flavor is very dry with plenty of effervescence. Light bodied for an abbey dubbel. rodgers004 (26), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 20, 2008 After having the tripel this was a bit of a disappointment, poured medium brown, with a decent head. Good malt flavor, but not a lot of complexity. Not one of the best offerings in this style, especially for the price I had to pay for it. Zaprozdower (41), Boone, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2008 Pours very dark for a dubbel and is very syrupy. As I poured it, I was disappointed with the aroma...was too much like an american lager. Other than that, good complex belgian ale flavors (a bit on the light side). scraff (1942), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2008 Brown, thin creamy white head. Toasty plum and fig aromas lay on notes of raisin bread. Spicy hop nose surfaces at room temperature. Flavor follows suit with dark fruit and earthiness rounding to a light hop finish. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dark fruity finish. Good brew, but certainly not top of the line Allagash…
