Commercial Description:
Allagash Fluxus is so named because it is the first beer brewed in our new brewery. Fluxus marks the change and growth of Allagash Brewing Company, and our passage from the corner of our original building to a new, state of the art brewery. Brewed with Belgian Pilsner Malt and 25% Rye malt, the beer is full-bodied with a spicy, herbal taste. A floral note arises with the addition of Yarrow, which is a flowering plant that was historically used as an alternative to hops. The 10% abv beer is hopped with Warrior and Brewers Gold which impart a subtle bitterness. Finally Fluxus, like all our beers, undergoes a second fermentation, the methode champenoise, by which we naturally carbonate our beer in the bottle.

Bottle, bright clear yellow with a white head. Slightly metallic nose with lemon and slight mint. Notes of pale malt, menthol, lemon, herbal hops and light spiciness. Full, round body with lively, fine-beaded carbonation.

750ml bottle. Hazy orange pour. Honey notes in the nose were unique for the style and welcoming. Mouth has nice carbonation with citrus notes. Surprised this doesnt have more ratings. im not sure how they justify there 15+$ price tag per bottle- maybe its a bit too high..

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a medium bubbly/creamy white head that left some lacing. Aroma reminded me a lot of ginger...but I suppose it may have been the Yarrow (not sure I ever smelled Yarrow before). Aroma was a mix of some other spices, floral and some bready notes...but really mostly spices and majorly dominated by one. Flavor was again dominated by that one spice up front. Again reminded me of ginger. In the flavor I’m also getting some honey, rye, light citrus notes, bready, tart, nice and dry. The flavor grew on me a little more than the aroma.

Thanks to Springlicker. Straw red pour with a light white head. Aroma of corriander yeast and molasses. A beer that tastes very much like it smells. Except that there is some spice in the flavor that I did not pick up on the nose. Firm solid mouth feel and good carbonation. Very good beer. Carbonation was a bit subdued which I like.

Shared with terminus. Pours amber / light copper with a small white head. The aroma is very bright with very nice clean spices, clean malt, light sweetness, earthy yeast and light funk. Medium / full body with a decent amount of semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of Belgium yeast, good nice crisp spice, some abv and a bit of fruitiness. The finish is clean spicy and shows pale malt. This is very nice. The cleanness and brightness of this are amazing considering the alcohol content. Very easy drinking and delightful.

Golden to amber in color with some head. Nice smell with bubble gum and flowers. Taste has some alcohol with a spiced character and some sourness.

Pours a cloudy orange with a smallish white head. Smells of big citrus and spice mixed. Coriander, Belgian yeast, and orange peel all are evident. Very thick mouthfeel. Noticed that right off the bat. The spices and citrus were backed by a profound alcohol presence. Got good doses of heat, that 10% packed a nice punch. The spices are followed by a crisp bitterness in the finish. Tangy aftertaste is left on the palate with alcohol burn. The thick mouthfeel makes this a task to drink. Not their best effort, but not bad.
