MartinT (4241), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 20, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Fresh herbs wisely impart their floral nature to this citrusy, dry and subtly bitter Belgian-style Strong Ale. I have come to expect nothing less than this high quality from Allagash.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy yellow.
-Carbonation is well calculated and serves the sagaciously dried out malt sweetness beautifully.
-The finishing hop bitterness harmoniously joins the yarrow use.
-This is not as sweet as many Allagash specials, which was appreciated.

ucusty (893), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 Deep amber pour with big head and decent lace. Malty aroma. Complez flavor consisting of roast, earthy, citrus, yeast and herbs. Slightly bitter finish dkachur (680), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 6, 2008 750 mL bottle shared by TheBeerGood at the 2008 Richmond Summer Gathering in Williamsburg. Thanks Mike! Amber color with a quickly disappearing medium-sized head. Big earthy and herby aroma. Notes of caramel, citrus, cereal, bubblegum and alcohol. Taste is very herbal... lots of woodiness and spice. Medium body with some thin spots. iowaherkeye (1370), rocking podunk Marengo!, Iowa, USA Jul 26, 2008 Updated: Jul 29, 2008750mL bottle, no date from General_Gao--thanks Colin! Clear medium gold with a one finger white head, fading to a thick ring and thin film after a bit. It seems that yarrow has an herbal and peppery marigold aroma. Some lemons, Belgian yeast, alcohol, and light sweet biscuity malts are also present. Flavor doesn’t try to hide the alcohol much, and is a fair amount sweeter than the aroma led on. However, it is still quite peppery and floral. Dry finish that is quite hot, and bitterness peaked around a 3. Full body with moderate carbonation. Not too bad--and worth a try, but I dunno if it’s worth +$15 or however much it is. bennylava (53), California, USA Jul 18, 2008 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with minimal head. This one is a bit hard to describe. Floral, medicinal, cloves, and mart. A strange herbal, bitter flavor at the midpoint almost lemony too. Finishes dry, and can feel the alcohol slightly. Very enjoyable. jimbowood (709), Athens, Georgia, USA Jul 5, 2008 bottle. Honey, spice, and floral notes predominate. A very nice beer. Full of flavor yet drinkable.
