Caged and corked. This poured bright red-orange, highly active and inviting. The aroma is sweetly sugary, and hinting at a ready-to-harvest orchard. This drinks with a predominately fruity character, pear, grape. Quite the effervescent drink, too. Nice after dinner sipper. (#3426, 4/16/2008)

Jul 17, 2008 On cask @ Pizza Plant Walker. Pours amber brownish color. Aroma consists of malty sweetness, caramel, sugar, dried fruits particularly raisins & booze. Pretty complex taste of dried fruits, caramel malts, raisins & boozy warmth. Nice fuller mouthfeel. Good beer

Jul 14, 2008 Corked bottle. Orange brown color. Plums, flowers, lemon, caramel and a hint of maple syrup in the both complex and strong aroma. Very sweet, sugary but also malty flavor with maple syrup, caramel, plums, sweet grapes, citrus, licorice and warming alcohol. The complexity is there, but this beer is really a bit too sweet.

Jul 7, 2008 The color was amber. The head was fizzy and off-white. The aroma was hoppy and sweet. The flavor was sweet, alcohol, and spice. The palate was lively. The finish was warm and waxy/bitter.

Jul 6, 2008 Dark, deep red color with a huge foamy white head. Malty - Raisins, figs, and brown sugar taste. Heavy on the palate and heavy finish. Great quad.

Jul 5, 2008 Nice dark red color with a white head leaving some lacing. I’ve seen plenty of others out perform this one, but it still looks nice. Yeast, candi sugar, and dark fruits, with a bit of an alcohol sting in the nose. Yeast is the first thing you taste, but followed quickly by the fruits and then an alcohol warmth. Alcohol is not hidden, but not overpowering. Taste seems to become a bit cloyingly sweet after a while. Lower carbonation, medium bodied. Pretty good, on occasion.
