Aroma is very spicy, colve, orange, tangerine, peach and apricot. Strong burnt sugar/toasty aroma. Falvour is quite sweet, toasted malt, dark honey, a bit of chocolate malt some some toasted Belgian malt. Very estery, sweet apricot, cardamom, ginger and a strong honey malt character. Really rich and complex. Some corianderish flavour throughout. decaturstevo (2007), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2006 A cloudy yellow beer with an aroma of yeast. A tart but pleasant flavor with just a hint of alcohol and a light foamy palate. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

The finish is sour and a little dusty. Overall pretty good but not great. Suttree (2740), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 Cloudy orange, almost no head, but there is a small ring of foam. Nice aroma, notes of maple and caramel, which is echoed in the flavor. Crisp but mellow ho finish. Sampled at Noogfest2. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2006 Batch #12. Hazy amber. Full sized, fizzy, tan head made of large, well spaced bubbles. Nose is bready, yeasty, a bit of clean smoke (could be suggestion, maybe not as the licorice escapes me), some musty funk, fruits, caramel malt, and spices. Same flavors with some toastiness and peppery notes. Dry, yeasty finish. Full, doughy, balanced body. Very flavorful, very drinkable. Another top notch brew from Allagash. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2006 Pint Bottle: Pours an orange-red color. Thick foamy soft head. Aroma is nice. Palate is soft and quite nice. Not as much spice as I’ve come to expect in a belgian ale. Some fruity tones, a touch of alcohol, bananas. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a hazy bronze color with a big off-white head. aroma of spices, citrus, and fruit. Flavor is carbonated, smooth, citrus, and fruit just like the aroma. entertheiceman (242), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2006 The flavor simply does not do the beutifull appearance and aroma of this beer justice. Orange with a slighlty brown hue and an aroma to be treasured. Spiced candied fruits and yeast as well as mild cloves and artificial bannanas. The mouthfeel, however is a bit chalky and unflavorfull. A syrup texture through the middle and yes, I do detect a little licorice. Just a little unbalanced beacause of the contrast between the outstanding aroma and fairly average flavor.
