Aug 21, 2005 bottle. hazy orange body with a medium-sized fluffy white head. prominent yeast nose, pepper notes and clove. sweet malty body with soft fruit flavours. Body is yeasty and warm. Spicy finish. Solid.

Aug 11, 2005 22oz - batch #10 - Aroma is sweet with candy sugar, banana, and yeast. Spiced with pepper and clove. Pours a light hazy brown with a small head and some lacing. Flavor is thick with carmel malt, yeast, clove, and a touch of hop. Palate is creamy and smooth. A nice American Belgian (if that makes sense).

Aug 8, 2005 smll off whtie head long lasting with and amber cloudy hue. Smell of flowers, honey and raw sugar. Light palat, watery with lively carbonation and a sweet finish. Tastes malty with hints of fruit and caramel.

Aug 6, 2005 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a cloudy amber with a spare white head. First thing I noticed in the aroma was that it was hoppy and didn’t smell at all like the Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru which is what I expected. It was also fruity, spicy and malty. The flavour was a nice balance of malt, spices, hops and yeast but a tad too sour for me. In a night of tasting many beers there were no others like it, it’s quite original. I’ve enjoyed all the Allagash beers I’ve had so far.

Aug 4, 2005 Courtesy of Pailhead. Pours amber with nice white head. Very malty up front. Lots of caramel/toffee with some fruit in the background. Initial flavor is all sweet malt, turns to fruit and candy sugar. Decent overall. Maybe a little too sweet in the finish. Leaves you thirsting for more though.

Aug 1, 2005 Bottle: Lots of sweet fruit, yeast, and light toffee. Pours a dull cloudy orange with a small white head that quickly diminishes to a ring. Toffee and banana bread up front with a moderate fruitiness throughout. Light flowery hops in the finish. Reminds me of a lot of scotch ale. Very good.

Jul 30, 2005 Bottle from Premier shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc & tupalev - courtesy of rudolf. Slightly hazy reddish-gold colour. Aroma of vanilla, orange, spice, and some alcohol warmth. Flavour is very well balanced with notes of malt, ginger, pepper, hops and a bit of yeast. Very nice stuff.
