GABF 2007 Dark straw color small white head. Big aroma, funky, alcohol, tart fruits, sour characters. Well coated and fluffy palate. Tart fruits, lightly sour brown ish.. a bit funky, nice dry finish. Good and oddly sour w/ a hint of wood on the tongue afterwards.

GABF 2007. Poursto a hazy yellow body with a very thin white head. The aroma is funky fruits and yeast laden malts. Tart pineapple. Very interesting malts/hops/yeasts/beasties. The flavor is a yeasty pale malt with some funky fruits. The palate is medium bodied, creamy and tart. Belgian.

Tap at Spuyen Duyvil. Hazy pink tinted amber brew with lots of suspended yeast. Soft tartness, with lemon, soft sweet earthiness and loads of vanilla. A bit of cherry/berryish sweet fruitness. The normal sweetness of this beer is really tempered by the aging and the soft tartness. The barrel really comes through with soft vineous notes, vanilla/tapioca. Wheaty and spicy with the normal yeast phenols making themselves apparent on the back. As it warms a honeyish character really starts to assert itself. Great balance with the sweet/tart character really playing off of the yeasty spice. Nice to see something this good and sad to know that I won’t see it again.

Tap @ SD. Poured a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Amazing aroma of yeasty funk. Leather, strong vanilla and a hint of cherry. Light malt flavor quickly followed by acidic citrus, leather and a dry Belgian yeasty finish. Nice warmth in the chest.

Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Malty, light brett aroma with some citrus and cherries. Tart aroma with light malt flavor and apple, light citrus, and cherries. Medium body. LIngering tart/apple/malt. Nicely balanced and well made beer.

Sample @ EBF, 2/2007. Pours a dark yellow with a lacy head. Aroma is largely of cherry with slight oak and yeast characteristics. Taste is big cherry with some oak, yeast, banana, and clove included (there IS a tripel somewhere in there, after all). Very good.

On tap at Uber in Seattle. Hazy dark golden, big off white head. Sour cherry aroma. Taste of sour cherry mixed with a little nutty oak. Alcohol isn’t over the top. Not overly sweet. Thank you Uber...
