The barnyard funkiness of the Brettanomyces practically leaps into the nose. There’s also many a fruity scent - peaches & nectarines, berries, orchard fruit. The very thought of drinking this rather than just sniffing it seemed anticlimactic. Luckily, the flavor’s not a let-down. The aforementioned are joined by white peppers, alcohol, and a touch of lemon zest, all smoothly blended together. Very fine ale. merlin48 (518), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Hazed peach body with a modest beige head. Seductive aroma hints of fruitiness as soon as the cork is removed. Notes of green apple, red grapes, kiwi, and strawberries are joined by oak tones and some subtle spices. Nice! Medium to light medium in body with zingy carbonation. Taste opens on a spicy note with a touch of hot alcohol. Brett notes quickly appear with a wet gravel taste and some funky wool. Underripe strawberry and kiwi provide fruit texture. Oak is subtle but noticed. Lemon pez candy and kiwi skin come back for the finish and aftertaste. Incredibly complex and one of the better efforts at an American wild ale. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Large layer of off-white head. Flemmish sour nose. But sweeter. Younger? Tart apples and citrus. An unbalanced burn. Cocoa and earthy aromas. Full bodied with flavors of tart cherries. Big beer, but good drinking. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Appears a hazy, russett toned crimson with a small white head that slowly fades out. Scattered streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of light oak, vanilla, tart apples, melons, mild pineapple, earthiness, and citrus.
Taste mimics the aromas with light cherries found among the flavors.
Mouthfeel is sweet up front with honey and booze hanging on during the dry finish. rickgordon (3304), Göteborg, Sweden

Dark yellow colour, low, very low head. Pale malty aroma with brettanomyces, that gives acidity. Brett is prominent in flavour as well, with pale malty flavour and a soft, delicate mouthfeel. Lots of candi. Hints of berries. larsniclas (3386), Gothenburg, Sweden

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 8, 2007 January 2007 corked and caged bottle. Poured an off-white fizzy head that mostly diminished, fair amount of lacing, hazy, orange-golden hue, and visible carbonation. Nose was oak, fruity, spicy and clove. Flavor was fruity, spicy, sweet and vinuous. Mouthfeel had a slight burning sensation. Medium body. A sipping beer for sure and one that I’ll partake in again if the opportunity should arise.
