| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2007 750ml bottle. Bottled May 2006. Aroma: Very fruity aroma. Plums, caramel apple, raisins. Rich maltiness with strong caramel notes. Belgian yeast, vanilla, spice. A light sourness that seems to tie in with the fruit and lend a bit of a cidery note. Appearance: Dark amber in color and lightly hazed. Light khaki head was full and frothy with decent retention. Not much lacing. Flavor: Similar to the aroma. Lots of caramel and malt with some bready and yeasty notes. Apple, pear, raisins, plum, grape. Oak is pretty subtle but comes out with some vanilla and light nuttiness. Sweet finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Medium alcohol warming on tongue. Overall: Really enjoyed all the fruit aroma/flavor in this beer. Solid from first to last. jimhilt (1679), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2007 Ruddy brown color, thin head. Aromas of apples and pears are very evident, slight hints of ginger even peak through. Toasty and malty, with a nice oaky finish, definite Belgian charecter coming through. A bit thin, which is a tad surprising. Alcohol is warming on the finish. JohnnyJ (1312), Carlsbad, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Updated: Apr 25, 2007The aroma is very fruity with apples and pears being the most prominent. There is also a butterscotch element as well as toasted malt and caramel. The appearance is hazy purple/brown with a two finger head. The flavor is like the aroma with only a trace of oak barrels. The palate is sticky but a little thin with an astringent bitter finish. Overall a really good beer. michael-pollack (2685), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 23, 2007 750ml Bottle: Aroma is sweet and spicy. Smells of bourbon, oak, wine, and yeast. Poured brown in color though appears amber against a white background. Medium, rocky, tan head lasted throughout. No lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is moderately sweet and lightly spicy. Tastes of bourbon, lots of malts, a little alcohol, wood, grape, cherry, and cloves. Medium to full body. Lively carbonation. Malty, slightly bitter finish tingles on the tongue. Lasting wood and malt flavor in finish. Overall, good, but not my style. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2007 Pours a dark amber with a thick, well retained light tan head. Pretty foamy. Rich malts and caramel dominate the aromas. Some yeasts as well. Taste has a nice malty bitterness to it. Caramel and vanilla are also very much present, especially in the finish. The bourbon is more controlled in this beer, than in the other barrel aged beers they do. The alcohol is still very hot, but the bourbon is more subtle in this beer. Still very nice.
