Bottled@RBESG 2008 Grand Tasting
Clear amber color, small white head. Oaky with some vanilla in the nose. Liquerish, malty with some vanilla flavors in wellbalanced package. Some oxidation and fizzyness in the finish.

RBESG08 grand tasting
Murky red brown body. Crappy fruity, malty and dyeasty aroma. Yoghurty taste with an aggressive something that might be bitterness but I can’t decypher it. Ok fruity maltiness. A respectable beer but I really didn’t dig it.

750ml bottle via an old school trade with beachbum25. Pour a clear mohogany color with a 1 finger off white dome. Black cherry, plum and other dark fruits on the nose as well as some baking spices. Oak, dark fruits, clove on the palate, a medium-full finish.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is wood, lots of nectar, some pine and also a bit leathery and berryish notes. Flavour is fruits, spices, herbs, some berries, yeast and mild leatheryness in the background.

Bottled at RBESG. Cloudy amber. Perfumy oaky nose. Fruity and estery with medium body. Woody and full flavoured with some caramel and floral strawberries. Intense. An American version of a Belgian version of a Scottish beer...

August 2006 bottle. Deep copper color with a big, frothy beige head. Nose has noticable oak, with some vanilla and alcohol. Subtle oak in the flavor, with dark fruit, caramel sweetness, and a touch of smoke. A very interesting take on a Scotch Ale, and I find it more Belgian that Scotch.

This was really nice, wonderfully done. Alcohol is really present in the nose, as evident in the vanilla and toasted oak, perhaps even a bit of coconut. Sweet smoky maltiness, with some caramel and earthy spiciness. Someting I would drink all the time, if I had all the money in the world to spend on beer.
