| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Tap at Night of the Funk. A dud from Allagash. I liked the experiment here, I guess you can’t always have great success. The aroma is grassy, citrusy, milky. Doesn’t sound like a good combination? It isn’t. The flavor is loaded with chemicals, lots of carbonic acid, and is muddy all around. Something went very wrong with the fermentation here. thenick (746), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Sample @ BBF Night of the Funk. Pours a light gold (not as hazy as the My Brother Daryl) with a fluffy white head. Nose is biscuit malt, with a bit of funk and a heavy Belgian yeast note. Flavor is biscuit malt with a bit of light fruit and a heavy Belgian yeast characteristic that conflicts at times with the brett sourness that wants to come out. Finish was surprisingly bitter. Not as good as My Brother, but still solid. SuIIy (1487), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 17, 2009 Sample at NotF. Pours a light golden color with a white foamy head. Nose is biscuity with a light funkyness yeast note. Palate is full. Flavors of biscuit and light fruit. Its a much mellower version then my brother daryl. MartinT (5075), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2009 My Bottom Line:
This coniferous Wild Ale benefits from biscuity cereals and delicate fruity esters for a dry and classy glass of merriment.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy pale blond. Is this really paler than "My Brother Daryl" or are my eyes deceiving me?
-This was less aromatic than the clausenii version (My Brother Daryl), but the brettanomyces bruxellensis still shone brightly from aroma to finish.
-The fruitiness was slightly tropical, but not nearly as tropical as the clausenii, of course.
-A little lactobacillus would have been great in the finish, methinks, but as is it is still a wonderful sipper of a strong ale.

Pours a very cloudy golden color with a big white head. Aroma is pineapple, citrus, sourness, and a little horseblanket. Flavors are citrusy again the pineapple like flavor, but also a hint of sourness, and sweetness. Like it’s brother it has a smooth mouthfeel although it’s a little more cloying than it’s brother.
