Commercial Description:
Allagash Brewing Company would like to introduce its Tenth Anniversary Ale, a special 10% ABV beer that celebrates 10 years of brewing artisinal Belgian Style ales. A unique interpretation of our flagship Allagash White, Tenth Anniversary is a blend of two different whites: a sweeter batch (brewed in February, 2005) and a drier batch (brewed in March, 2005). By blending the two batches, an additional complexity is imparted. Further complexity, most notably expressed by the delicate vanilla notes, was gained by aging some of the beer in new oak barrels.

Tap @ Blind Tiger - a million thanks to Rob Tod at Allagash for bringing his last keg of this to share with us. Pours a cloudy amber color with no head. Aroma was pepper, Belgian yeast, and spice (clove, coriander). Flavor is citrus, pepper, spice, and Belgian yeast, with a highly satisfying dry finish. I enjoyed it, and I’m glad I finally got to try this.

750ml bottle courtesy of Cletus, thanks John. Hazy yellow/orange pour. Peppery aroma, pretty strong. Very smooth, not much pepper, more coriander and orange. Pretty tasty stuff.

Cloudy orange yellow with a small fluffy head. Aroma is bright, clean and citrusy with mellow spice. Taste is smooth and creamy with some spice and citrus, ornage, tangerine and lemon. Nice.

750ml bottle thanks to Eric @ Novare. This pours a golden hazy yellow with a quickly receding head. Aroma is a nice subtle of sweet fruits, bready, and some malt. The flavor is a wonderful caramelly, vanilla, lemons, oranges, and cloves. The palate was super smooth, this beer was fantastic. Aging helped it i think, but my god was I glad to get this finally!

Golden pour with a spicy, slightly sweet aroma. Flavor is very degraded with light spices (similar to the first Fluxus) with some banana, citrus, and earth. OK, but I’m not sure I would have liked this any better if fresh.

From the bottle, pours hazy golden yellow with a tall white head. Very dry and smooth on the palate. Fruity sweet up front, notes of apricot, dried pineapple, with a mild estery spice. The oak was very mild, only seeming to lightly dry out the finish.
