Commercial Description:
Allagash Brewing Company would like to introduce its Tenth Anniversary Ale, a special 10% ABV beer that celebrates 10 years of brewing artisinal Belgian Style ales. A unique interpretation of our flagship Allagash White, Tenth Anniversary is a blend of two different whites: a sweeter batch (brewed in February, 2005) and a drier batch (brewed in March, 2005). By blending the two batches, an additional complexity is imparted. Further complexity, most notably expressed by the delicate vanilla notes, was gained by aging some of the beer in new oak barrels.

Botted: Light yellow coloured. Hazy. white head. Yeast, nuts, and sweetness in the aroma. Flavour is quite citric, sweet and light spiced. Is grapish and has notes of alcohol. Is dry and spiced in the end. Reminds me more of a Abbey Tripel than a Strong Ale.

Malt and bread dominates the aroma, along with some yeast and a light spicyness. Milky yellow body with a small white head. Sweet and yeasty flavor, with a light spicy finish.

A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet spicy combined with notes of peaches, alcohol, and hints of hops. The flavor is very sweet and very spicy - I detect coriander, but also a fruitiness with peaches coming thru. The end is dry and still spicy.

Golden and almost opaque, crowned with a thin ring and a little bubbly island in the center.
Freshly backed cheezy bread, sprinkled with spices with a low-key alcohol finish.
A little maderized with notes of caramel, sweet and yeasty mouthfeel, that mixed with the alcohol piquant to give a pleasant, tingly feeling in my gullet. For some reason, the booze just exploded when I tasted it along with a piece of bread.

Cloudy orange blonde pour with a thin white head. Nice, enjoyable aroma of pears, spices and yeast. The flavor is, good and entertaining with its pears, spices and yeast. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. This is a good, solid beer from a good, solid brewery.

The Lure:
Lavender, coriander, ginger and miscellaneous flower petals bloom in a bright and alluring perfume. Fruity pear esters join in the fun, laid smoothly on fluffy bread. All this coming from a gushing bottle, quite surprising.

The Festivities:
Frothy and prickly carbonation plows through the spice-laden honey sweetness. Oranges and white grapes bounce off the resting yeast. A little thin maybe for such a big beer, but an exciting ultrawit nonetheless.

Transcendence:
A colourful reef through wavy seas.

Cloudy tangerine/orange colored. Big time fruit and spice aroma, curacao heavy, with hints of coriander, peach, strawberry and apricot. Heavy witbier spicing, yet it seemed perfect for me. Big malt, with loads of butter toffee and fruit flavors, while the yeast most definately reveals it’s Belgianess. Nice balance. Must say I enjoyed this and it’s no surprise because if I enjoy a good wit, why wouldn’t I enjoy a good Triple wit.

Cindy at the NEBF described this beer as a combination of "old white and new white." Doesn’t look that way based on the description here. Not much difference between this and ordianry allagash white, or any other white for that matter. Perhaps a tad bit spicier with noticeably higher alcohol content. but amping up the alcohol isn’t enough to impress me.
