Commercial Description:
Allagash Brewing Company would like to introduce its Tenth Anniversary Ale, a special 10% ABV beer that celebrates 10 years of brewing artisinal Belgian Style ales. A unique interpretation of our flagship Allagash White, Tenth Anniversary is a blend of two different whites: a sweeter batch (brewed in February, 2005) and a drier batch (brewed in March, 2005). By blending the two batches, an additional complexity is imparted. Further complexity, most notably expressed by the delicate vanilla notes, was gained by aging some of the beer in new oak barrels.

Very lively beer -- cork popped right off and beer spilled everywhere. Nice fizzy, hazy appearance with a medium amber-yellow color. Slightly sweet, fruity aroma balanced by malts. Well-balanced flavor, especially given the 10% alcohol content. Very nice smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, another excellent ale from Allagash!

Pours translucent amber with a lot of fast rising carbonation and a huge soap sud head that stays forever. Lacing practically comsumes the glass. Aroma is of rounded hay, light fruit (melon, white grape, and a very light banana), and a creamy vanilla. Flavor is light fruits (same as the aroma but with slightly more banana then in the aroma), mild hay, sweet cream, and vanilla. Medium to full body with a creamy palate. The combination of the light fruits, cream, and vanilla is like a nice summer dessert and then is cut just slightly by the hay to keep it from being too sweet. Full flavor and sunstantial body but still very drinkable. The alcohol is almost undetectable except as a slight waft in the finish. I am very impressed by this beer.

Explodes out of the bottle, pours with a three-finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Nose is orange peel. Complex flavor, on the sweet side some citrus but not bitter, the high ABV is not noticable, one of the best wits I have had - expensive $12.99 for a 750ml bottle from Downeast beverage Portland, Me.

Had to break one open and give it a shot. Popped open violently and spilled a little, but not too much. Pours a nice light straw color with a good sized fluffy head. The flavor was amazing, I usually don’t like whites, but Allagash once again hits a home run with this brew. Absolutley perfect as far as this style goes, wonderful complex taste of malts, sugar and some spices!

My friend popped the cork which proceeded to shoot up to the ceiling along with half of the beer. The other half that we drank was quite good. I just hope the ceiling enjoyed the rest of it.

Now this is living, work all day pop open a 750 of 10th Anniversary beer from one of my favorite breweries and sit outside and enjoy it all. Gold color with an awesome looking egg shell colored head, almost too beautiful to drink, yeah right. Aroma of mellow malts, grass and hay. The head doesn’t budge an inch. Taste is a bit sweeter though and definatly warming. Flavors of rich grains, subtle white pepper and coriander and sugar. The hops are so sublime and perfectly done. This may be called a witbier but I call it a masterpiece. Magnifique.

750 bottle yes, it popped when opening and sprayed out, even after cooling with ice&water for 2 hours, pours an off white head, cloudy golden color showing lots of effervescence. Aroma is malt&hops. Taste is sweet. Finish is dry/alcohol. An occasional, sipping Ale.

An extreme wit, Way spicy, alcoholic, but so damn smooth, A bit fruity, but not much. almost seemed like a cross between a wit, and triple, great combo. Flavor is great! Loved this beer! Thanks to jjpm for this one.
