Commercial Description:
Allagash Brewing Company would like to introduce its Tenth Anniversary Ale, a special 10% ABV beer that celebrates 10 years of brewing artisinal Belgian Style ales. A unique interpretation of our flagship Allagash White, Tenth Anniversary is a blend of two different whites: a sweeter batch (brewed in February, 2005) and a drier batch (brewed in March, 2005). By blending the two batches, an additional complexity is imparted. Further complexity, most notably expressed by the delicate vanilla notes, was gained by aging some of the beer in new oak barrels.

This bottled brew poured a small sized head of mostly lasting foamy white colored bubbles that left behind a poor lacing and a hazy yellow dark colored body. The aroma was spicy and fruity. The mouth feel was smooth at the start and ended with a mildly tingly finish. The flavor was a mix of spices and malts.

Dry coriander belg weak aroma. hazy gold with white 1mm head. Well balanced, bready, yeasty hoppy flavor. Chewy palate, full mouth, spritz, awakening. Good stuff. add in yeast: apple flavor emerges.

Poured a golden yellow with orange hues. The head was pretty large (the bottle exploded all over me) and the lacing very nice. The aroma was of apples, oranges, and light coriander. Some yeast present. The flavor was much of the same with a sweetness that wasn’t balanced enough. The mouthfeel was thick and sweet, very carbonated. Spices came out as it warmed.

750 ml bottle, shared and shipped by slob, thanks Bert! Pours hazy, slightly orangey golden with a foamy, large white head. Citric, fruity malts, bready, yeasty character, definite spice presence with coriander and light oaky tannins. Sweet, sweet, bready malts, spice, citrus notes, oak and alcohol in the middle, the fades to a bready sweet finish with more spice. Medium body, creamy carbonation.

Cloudy golden pour topped with a big, white head. Lacing formed intricate, long-lasting patterns on the inside of the glass. The aroma was a blend of coriander, orange and apricot. Those come through in the flavor though the orange is more of orange peel. There are also hints of lemon, banana and pepper at the finish. The body is thick, but not cloying making for a memorably creamy palate. Long finish of flavors, dry and spicy. Superb Belgian strong ale.

Lusterless lemon pour with a creamy, ivory head. From start to finish, this brew simply exemplifies the use of spice additions. The nose is bright and full of coriander, orange peel, vanilla, hay, earth, apricot, peach ...the list goes on. The body is absolutely lush and creamy, softly carbonated - perfect in a word. More peach and apricot fruitiness layers with sweet bready and honey glazed malts. Insanely drinkable for a 10% ABV brew. Allagash does it again - brilliant. (Re-rate: I had this again last night (7/3/06) for the third time and can find no fault in it. A perfect beer that is at its prime right now. Hopefully the guys at Allagash decide to brew this one again!)

750ml bottle that gushed when the cork was pulled via trade with ImtheOptimator a while back! - Thanks Andrew! - Pours Golden with a fluffy white head that stays pretty well and laces the sides of the glass in a layer. Aromas of bread, light spice, and a touch of citrus. Flavor is bready as well but definite notes of orange, corriander, and even some caramel sweetness come through. Alcohol is covered quite well and the body was medium. Light and airy and very drinkable.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy golden body with a average-sized white head. Aroma of breadiness, citrus, mustiness, and banana. Flavor of orange, banana, coriander, and spicy yeast with a dry finish.
