Tap @ Blind Tiger - a million thanks to Rob Tod at Allagash for bringing his last keg of this to share with us. Pours a cloudy amber color with no head. Aroma was pepper, Belgian yeast, and spice (clove, coriander). Flavor is citrus, pepper, spice, and Belgian yeast, with a highly satisfying dry finish. I enjoyed it, and I’m glad I finally got to try this.

Dec 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with a white head. Lots of spicy notes, pepper, cinnamon, light mint, and some woody tannins. Vanilla, plum and vinous grape notes. Full bodied with a medium warming. Nice ale.

Nov 10, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger: I’m glad I finally got to try some of the last of this remaining stuff. Pours a deep cloudy golden with a dense white film of head. The aroma is rich and fruity with light oxidation and lots of phenolics. Some old dark fruits of prune & fig with a peppery spiciness and a mild white wine (vinous) character. Crisp body- pretty lively. The flavor is sweet and spicy- only a slight indication of oxidation. Has a mild tartness with a dry tannic oak note. Some soft vanilla notes from the barrel- mainly a soft vinous character. Light muscat grape suggestions as well as sweeter notes of prune in the background and dry spicy phenols. A touch of an orange peel citric character is there when it warms. It has held up quite well- was probably stellar about two years ago (Probably peaked at three years old).

Jun 28, 2009 Bottle shared by hophead22 from Cletus, Thanks John...Cloudly light orange in appearance.. Smell was pepper and some peppermint candy sweetness.. NIce orange citrus flavor with a pineapple finish.. Tasty.

Jun 14, 2009 Bottle from Hophead22 beer tasting thanks to Cletus. Very light and cloudy pour. Aroma of coriander/oranges pineapple and pepper. Pepper was not present though in the taste. It was very refreshing.

Jun 13, 2009 750ml bottle courtesy of Cletus, thanks John. Hazy yellow/orange pour. Peppery aroma, pretty strong. Very smooth, not much pepper, more coriander and orange. Pretty tasty stuff.

May 21, 2009 Cloudy orange yellow with a small fluffy head. Aroma is bright, clean and citrusy with mellow spice. Taste is smooth and creamy with some spice and citrus, ornage, tangerine and lemon. Nice.

This pours a golden hazy yellow with a quickly receding head. Aroma is a nice subtle of sweet fruits, bready, and some malt. The flavor is a wonderful caramelly, vanilla, lemons, oranges, and cloves. The palate was super smooth, this beer was fantastic. Aging helped it i think, but my god was I glad to get this finally!
