I didnt find it very bitter compared to some of the reviews i have read, it left a sweet spicy taste in my mouth. Poured nicely, golden orange with a white head and a strongy banana aroma to it. Maybe a little over rated for the money, but a good beer all and all. GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA

Tripel’s are also not on the top of my favorite style list, so that could also have something to do with my poor reception of this beer. Aroma was doughy, mashed banannas with an old yeasty smell. Appearance was brilliant with a medium golden color and a brilliant white head. Mouthfeel was a bit minerally for me, verging on almost being too harsh. Flavor was more of the mashed banannas with a bit of clove and sour apples. Not really my thing. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

Malty and quite spicy flavor with fruity and floral notes. Light dry and sweet finish. nightrider (383), encinitas, California, USA

Rich flavors of fruit and some yeast without alcohol strongly noted. Smooth on the palate with a lovely finish. Quite nice for a tripel. faroeviking (6127), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours a nice golden/orange colour. The aroma is sweet with spices, caramel and has a bready maltiness. The flavour is sweet, with a good toasty maltiness, yeast, spices, caramel, fruits and hops. The finish is spiced and malty. Great brew! Maria (6326), Thisted, Denmark

The flavour has sweetness, notes of caramel, coriander, fruit and citrus. It has a nice balance, but IMO it’s a bit too sweet. 2121 talon1117 (630), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Batch 97. Pours a hazy, orangey-golden color with an average, white, frothy head; a small amount sticks around persistantly with tight lacing. Nose is lovely with yeast and bananas over the top with nice cloves and cinnamony pie crust below. Light notes of ripe peaches and herbally spices. Flavor is nice but without the pie crust notes and more spiciness and bitterness than expected. Yeast is still dominant with fruits of banana and light ripe peach. Other notes of faint honey and spices of cloves, pepper, and herbs; moderate bitterness matches the spiciness. Soothing is a good way to describe the palate, as the description goes, with it being medium bodied, soft feeling, creamy, and moderate carbonation. Finishes quite long with herbs, pepper, yeast, and a faint remainining cinnamon. One of the best tripels I’ve had to date with such a good balance between spicing, bitterness, fruits, and yeast. Herbal characteristics make for an interesting twist on a fairly straight forward style. cab (863), Denmark

My first Trippel from the land of faith, hope and charity, and im filled with blind faith, and hope that they will take my hand and walk me in too a new view of the trippel.......... but no.......Sorry. the taste of yeast is a bit out of controle and not in the in the Belgian way, it is the taste of slurry, and not propertyes of the belgiean yeast.
