Terribly quaffable, but all over quite an average bitter. The zestiness of the cascade was apparent but dissipated quickly. DruncanVeasey (2732), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 9, 2009 Bottle, not BC. Bright bronze with fine lace drapes. Fine musky hop-driven aroma mixing up grapefruit, passion fruit, rose, peardrop and stewed tea. Flavour more caramelised with cakey cherry hints, nutty malt linger, hint of choc biscuit. Hops fade away a bit, which is disappointing. Filtered so no yeasty weirdness, hint of smoke for dessert. Doesn’t quite deliver. Bullit (1374), Glasgow, Scotland

Aroma of caramel malts and dark fruits. Flavour is of caramel malts, fruits and citric hops. Bitter finish. imdownthepub (5144), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Rich malty dry bitter, again a late hop and a lingering fruitiness. Sharp metallic notes in the body, warms to a lingering biscuit note. Magicdave6 (5513), London, Greater London, England

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2006 Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Quite dark brown for a bitter, so I was expecting toffee and caramel. However, while there is a fair amount of fruit and soft malt, there’s also a surprising level of hoppy bitterness. Earthy and citric (which, looking at the hop varieties employed, is not surprising) at the same time. Unusual and, to me at least, rather appealing. Mixing US and UK hop varieties does not always work too well but I thought it did on this occasion.

Fruity aroma. Copper mid brown coloured with some fruit flavour. Crisp bitter and slightly dry on the palate with a malt finish. Slightly thin. maeib (4725), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

A dark brown coloured beer with a dull nondescript aroma. The taste has some hop note and a late bitterness, but the whole experience is not very exciting.
