Commercial Description:
A top quality blonde beer made using only Marris Otter pale malt to give a light and refreshing clean taste. Moderately hopped with Challenger and delicate New Zealand Hallertau hops. This is the perfect easy drinking beer for hot summer days!

Had this at the Cambridge beer festival, wasn’t taking too many notes that day. It doesn’t stand out too much for me on the day. Light and drinkable but with no truly notable characteristics. More cereal than hop.

Bottle from a farmshop near Amble, Northumberland, filtered but not pasteurised. Excellent blossomy herbal hop, lemon, honey and biscuit aroma straight out of Munich. Bright gold with a fast diminishing snowy head. Full and slippery on the palate, sliding down beautifully with a flourish of grassy citrus, lychee, crackerbread, lingering biscuity malt and blossom. Lovely soft aromatic bottled English with a dash of Thornbridge Kipling about it, upstaging the cask version on this evidence. Fresh, clean and balanced perfectly between juicy NZ hops and biscuity malt. A better, erm....Kiwi-influenced English helles you will not find.

Bottle from a gift pack I got for Xmas. Looks good, typical golden ale. Lacks a bit on the nose tho! Has a slight malty sweetness, the hops are a bit underplayed though. Overall not bad, not great either!

On tap, Newcastle. Nice golden ale, bitter and plenty of nice hops flavour and some sweetness and fruit. Enjoyable.

(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 27 April 2008) Golden amber colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of apricots and biscuity malt. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, biscuity malt and floral hops in the finish. Mainly dry, below medium body. Refreshing enough.

Biscuity malt and grassy hop on the nose. Taste is similar hint of honey and dry apricot.
