| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2009 This gnarly barley wine is super sweet and chewy. Malty and fruity, with well hidden alcohol and good flavor intensity. Notes of spiced apple, raisin and hard candy. This is badass liquid nectar in a brown bottle. Thanks to Mike T for the bottle!

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Oh my god, what a beer. I do not know much about Barley wines but I know that this is good. Pour is reddish brown with a sizable off white head. Aroma of barley malts, chocolate, nuts, caramels and alcohol. Sharp alc finish. Flavour stays on your tongue after tasting. Overall, very good. mcberko (176), British Columbia, Canada

Sweet nose of malt, fruit and hops. Flavour is complex - grapefruit, raisins, prune, and vanilla - maybe more? Low carbonation, full-bodied. Bitter finish. Excellent. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Smells sweet, malty and hoppy all at the same time somehow, but the odour is fairly weak. Dark brownyred that is golden around the edges, not much head though. Strong malt flavour, a bit more sweetness than a usual beer but it goes down nicely, a strong flavour all the way through but leaves a bit of a strong bitter aftertaste for just a moment then it’s gone. overall fairly sweet on the mouth. Fairly nice tasting, but I wouldn’t drink this concoction on a regular basis, barly wine is a pecular drink and this one isn’t as good as others that are also redily available. jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Medium tan head which is mostly diminishing. Fruity pineapple aroma. Pineapple flavor with light malt and alcohol. Avg duration. Smooth finish with light alcohol. Slick texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing. Grovlam (3825), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Bottle. Thanks to Kira for sharing. Small fizzy beige head that mostly lasted. Spare display of lacework. Clear amber color. Aroma of thick malt, toasted grainy feel, bread, complex notes of malt was the general picture here. Over the palate came grapefruit, floral, rasins, prunes, alcohol, wood, mild vanilla, sherry like notes as well. Quite complex indeed. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and dry thick texture. Heavy sweet and bitter flavor. Lingering bitter warming finish. By far the best beer Kira shared! GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 17, 2009 Again, another thank you goes out to Brad (mmmBeer) for sending this down from Canada. Shared with my brother while brewing up something of our own. The beer pours out a brownish-red crushed brick looking color, cloudy with a thick 1" light tan head. Aroma was big on the malts, brown sugar, with a fruityness that was sticking up for itself pretty well. Flavor had a really nice balance between the bitter and sweet. Piney goodness, chewy caramel malts, figs, light toffee notes with, again, some nice fruity notes. A very solid barleywine that if it were available in CA, might find itself if my fridge every other weekend. Diogène (584), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
