Cask gravity at St Albans BF 09. Pale gold, thin white head. Grapefruit hoppy aroma, not great condition though. And then cardboardy towards end. Bit of hop, but not great.

Cask gravity at Oxford Beer Festival, 15-10-09 Pours gold in colour with white head. The aroma is really quite unusual touch rustic. I certainly get the cats piss that the previous rater mentions. Nice sweet grapefruit in the mouth the bitterness comes through but its kept in check by a nice sweety maltiness. Pleasant beer that was quite popular at this end of the bar. A5 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Cask gravity, Nottingham 09. Phew. Back in the quality tent again. Headless pale yellow with a 3mm halo. Measured it. Arresting fresh aroma of pig’s arse, nettles, cat piss, barnyard. Big sting of lean lemony hop follows. Afters creamy, corn-like and evocative of Pickled Onion Monster Munch, although I’m pretty sure they’re not an ingredient. Lemony, fresh, punching. Allusions of elderflower, if you’re looking. Pigshit and flowers. Just got a weakness for this kind of lean, hopped up Lancastrian/Yorkshire pale ale. Must be my heritage. Vanilla and crushed cashews to ease the hop pill down. Winner, amongst a marquee of them.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at the Junction Tavern.
Clean pale gold. No head what so ever. Way to go Junction. First day and already the beers are struggling. Laughable. Excellent bright crisp hoppy nose. Really fruity and floral. Almost identical in the flavour. Just a little thin and whimpish in the finish. Could do with just a touch more body and certainly some bittering hops. Just a touch mind. Other than that, a glorious summer session ale. Great stuff.

Cask conditioned Gravity Dispense St Albans BF 09. A straw golden coloured beer with a nice grapefruit hoppy aroma. The taste is less impressive although there are citric notes. A bit of uninspired lime juice. Offers much from the nose but ultimately disappoints.

Guest at the Friendship, Fallowfield. Pale golden colour with lasting white head. Very attractive to look at. Aroma was hoppy citrus (possibly Challenger) and a malty sweetness. Strong grapefruit flavour with a slight sweetness leading to a decent bitter finish. The lightness of the palate makes it an ideal summer beer.
