The aroma is sweet with strong notes of wheat, medium notes of banana, and light notes of burnt plastic. The flavor is wheaty with light notes of caramel, leading to a dry end. The body is a bit thin. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml at The Beyerischer Hof, Kempten, Bayern. Hazed, chestnut, brown with thin head. A beer on the sweet side, certainly cloudy with a grainy roasted note, there is banana and cloves in a spicy background. It was quite a decent beer particularly after a hectic journey at 11:30pm. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Bottle from State Line. Looks like I enjoyed this one more than most. Hazy coppery ruby body with huge khaki head. Aroma of fruit, British hops, slight tannins, caramel malt, with the flavors being the same plus the addition of some richer caramel, cabernet red grapey, and slight cognac hints in the mid-palate and finish. There was a good amount of black sediment on the bottom of my bottle. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 17, 2007 A complete mess of a dunkelweizen, the pour even below average, no problems pouring the bottle into my weizen glass. OK head, didn’t have great retention, got a beautiful look at lots of yeast sedimentation in the glass. The aroma was caramel and light bananas, some off notes. The flavor was nasty caramel, sour caramel and bananas is probably the best way to describe it. Yeast elements were low, complete lack of phenolic character, and no even slight roasted notes. This was a loser dunkelweizen, sorry to say. Why did I buy another Allgauer? MiP (9159), Sønderborg, Denmark
