Lots of flavor here -- very bready, somewhat sweet -- but it also seems pretty significantly oxidized and even a little metallic. Good thing I don’t find oxidation a serious detractor in most cases. It certainly smells oxidized, but overall, the nose is a bit unpleasant. Medium bodied. Medium-dark golden in color with a slight haze. At least half an inch of white head covers the beer for several minutes before fading to a wide ring. I wish I could get a fresh sample, but how many times do I have to buy the same beer in my quest? iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2005 Bottle. Medium sized white head that was mostly diminishing, fine-medium sized bubbles, yeasty, hazy, no visible carbonation, and a yellow golden hue. The aroma was malty, caramel, sweet, and a hint of spicyness. Flavor was sweet, lightly bitter and malty. Quite tasty. Tingly palate. Worth a try IMO. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2005 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of frothy fine to large sized mostly lasting white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was hazy with yeast floaties and orange brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of smooth yeasty bready and was nice. Its mouth feel is initially slightly tingly smooth with a lingering mellow palate and a bready aftertaste. Its flavor contained smooth malt hop yeast notes and was very tasty. An excellent beer that I would buy again. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Yellow-orange with a creamy-smooth texture. Citric in character, and almost wheaty, like the illegitimate offspring of a hefeweizen and pilsner. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 18, 2005 Bottle pours a slightly hazy pale golden, large white pancake batter like head, web like lacing, with very light lacing.   Pale malt aroma, slightly grassy.   Semi-sweet grassy flavor, malty.   Medium body and mouthfeel.   Finishes fairly clean, light malts and grassy.   Nothing fantastic, but not bad either. &nbps Seems a bit heftier than other Helles examples.
