Medium brown with small head. Sweet raisin flavor initially with a mild coffee finish. Not as much body as some doppelbocks but enjoyable and easy to drink. Those who like the typical astringency of this style will probably not enjoy this as much. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA

The head leaves good lacing on the side of the glass. Nose was complex with white wine, raisin, butterscotch, cherry, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste had all of those things as well. Good alcoholic palate which was bitter in a good way. Not overly bitter. The body was a little watery, but that is fine. I’m enjoying this Doppelbock. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2005 My first sample of this was quite good and I found the beer distinctive. The body was of particular interest--a little watery (actually, "wet"), which rounded the beer very nicely. The flavors were restrained, which, when combined with the round body, kept it from being cloying. This is a particularly easy-drinking doppelbock which was tough not to like. Beautiful clarity too. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2005 Dark brown color. Deep malt aroma, with hints of plums, caramel and raisins. Flavor is lightly oxidized, fairly mild for the style, but still full of juicy malt flavors. Hints of fruits, caramel, toffee and yeast. Thin, watery palate, but this is still pretty delicious, like most Doppelbocks. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
