16.9 oz. / 500 ml. brown bottle. No freshness date seen anywhere. Poured out a deep chocolate brown, with reddish highlights at the edges of it. Frothy, loose, tan colored head that slid back slowly to a thick matting of floating lace. Generous side lacing as well. Aromas are of Carafa malts, dark brown sugars, roasted coffee beans, some caramel, and an earthy hoppiness. Tastes are of fresh roasted coffee beans, caramel, sweet brown sugars, frothy espresso latte’, and slight hops bite at the very end. Alcohol is present in flavors, but not aromas. Very warming, and satisfying to a fault. Rich, thick mouthfeel and perfect carbonation make for a really enjoyable beer. Finishes rich, sweet, malty, and delicious. A top notch dopplebock.

Beautiful brown color with toasted tan head. Carmel, roasted malty sweet aroma. Somewhat stale and flat. Sweet maltiness. Molasses and honey flavors. Acidic and finishes a tad watery. Pretty decent though and worth a try.

the aroma is amazing! malt, caramel, chocolate and a slight fruitiness. very little carbonation and lacing. the alcohol is pretty well hidden despite a slight warming on the way down. 500ml bottle pours up a dark brown, very malty but well balanced, the hops hide in the background but still slightly present. caramel, a tad smokey. as it warms up a bit. hint’s of cherry? i detect a very slight vanilla tinge to this as well but the chocolate is stronger. more complex that what i’ve heard, this one certainly evolves as the glass gets lighter, beer gets warmer. right up there in my opinion with salvator, or celebrator, perhaps even a maximator bock. 'very' good stuff indeed!

Big beige head atop a garnet-brown body, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, cereal, some smoke. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, smoke, bready, light raisin. Fairly creamy, medium-full body. Very enjoyable doppelbock.

The beer after its escape from the 500ml brown bottle in to my Leute Bock beer glass sets a deep brown with ruby high lights; the head is smallish and bubbly in texture, the color a nice tan, the resultant lace a thin curtain to drape the glass. Nose is malt sweet, caramel, hints of yeast, a bit musty I must say, start is sweet, thick malt presence, top is middling to almost full in its affect on the taste buds. Finish is has an imperious acidity, the hops noticeable but pleasant, aftertaste droughty and lingering upon the palate, a very nice doppel bock, a style I wish there was a bazillion of.

A red-brown beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is swet malty with notes of roasted bread. And the flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt as well as roasted bread and ending on a dry note. An OK beer, but somewhat simple for a Doppelbock.

Deep, reddish brown with a beige head. The aroma was some spice, malt, yeast. Alcoholic. Some fruit. Medium bodied. Creamy texture and light carbonation. Tart, astringent flavor. Citrus and spice. Decent but not exceptional.
