| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Bottle from Hi-Time. Hazy peach color with a decent white head. Aromas of bananas and wheat, with a hint of spice. Flavor starts with clove, a touch of citrus, wheat, then more citrus. Not getting banana, except for something like the strings from inside the peel. Finishes a bit dusty and rather dry. In the end it’s pretty much a wheat beer with some extras. Quite refreshing. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 16, 2008 Bottle and served in my Ayinger glass: Initial big foamy head which lasts for the most part, some lace, hazy golden hue. The aroma has phenolic notes of banana, bubblegum, wheat husks, biscuit, and a hint of butterscotch. No real spicy notes on the nose. The taste is a bit tangy and fruity at first supported by wet grains and wheat. Again missing most of the spicy qualities associated with the style. Seem sort of one note and less than impressed. The mouth feel is soft and watery. A poor example of the genre if you ask me. Disappointing. ARMed (488), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 15, 2008 A very disappointing hefe in basically all areas of rating. The aroma is stale and hard to detect. There is no floral scent that usually dominates this type of brew. The appearance is poor at best. The lacing is no existent and the head disappates in seconds. In addition there is no carbonation to tickle the nose.
The flavor and palate is tart and flat.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Bottle: Lightly misty yellow orange with a light white head. The nose is extremely bright with fresh yeast, bananas and orange, a touch of clove but not spicy at all. The flavor is creamy with more banana and citrus notes. A zesty mouthfeel and a mellow finish. A different approach to hefeweizen than I’m used to. It completely takes the banana notes and runs with it, making it a lightly fruity sweet refreshing drink. Citrusy tail and also a lack of hallertau notes which are one of the main weapons of a tasty hefeweizen. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Pretty refreshing and easy to drink overall, a little too much lemony acidity for me, I wish it had just a little more body. Pretty solid yeasty notes, of banana and a light bit of clove. Still enjoyable, but not over the top. scrizzz (1337), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 13, 2008 full spicy citrus aroma, plenty of dusty lemon and soft yeast, white pepper stings the nose a bit too. hazy yellow, approaches gold in the center. falls quite a bit flat in flavor, mostly watery with fleeting wheat flavor. finishes with banana and copper. corby112 (776), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Aroma of citrus and banana. Taste surprisingly less citrus like than other hefeweizens. Strong banana presence with hints of lemon and orange peel. Very refreshing and easy to drink.
