After a discussion with the bar owner, I believe this to be the same beer as the Furstabt Weizen. This one is gorgeous, with a pure white rocky head, citrus aroma and clean crisp flavors. A top notch Hefe! After having Noethaler, I can’t say it’s the best I’ve had but this is damn near close. I hope to see more of this around town (and the KristallKlar Weizen!) joemacaluso (119), Prairieville, Louisiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 26, 2002 I had this in Kempten, near the Altes Rathaus about 1/4-1/2 mile from the brewery. Right off tap and had not drank all day, it was nice. Don’t remember much about all the details, but the head was beautiful and taste fantastic. I also went to the brewery’s entrance where you can buy mugs cheap. I got a mass krug for less than 3.30 euro and a 1/2 litre weizen for around 2-2.50 euro. I think I spent 18.00 euro for 4 masses and 4 hefeweizen. The town is also pretty nice in the alstadt, but did not see as much as I would like. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 2, 2002 Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow, dense tiny particles, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (light bread), lightly hoppy (flowers, lemon), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of banana, butter, and clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rich malty weizen, which will probably make it a little too sweet for some people. But big esters, nice yeast and buttered bread character, and good body put this ahead of the pack IMHO. corby112 (763), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste surprisingly less citrus like than other hefeweizens. Strong banana presence with hints of lemon and orange peel. Very refreshing and easy to drink. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

Very wheaty aroma with hints of orange peel, clove, and a light caramelized malt hint. Taste is citrusy and bready, light caramel notes, then finishes off with a light floral hopping. Very dry and crisp, with a aftertaste that reminds me of the smell of orange peels. obguthr (1055), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2004 huge, soft rolling white head, nice and tight. plenty of tiny carbonation fill the caramely wheat colored body. Aroma is prevailed by wheat and bananna, accented by clove & a bit of grapefruit. classic wheat beer! boy do I miss home. flavor shows a surprising grainy/flaked barley character. toasty. effervescence delivers the lfavor to all corners of the mouth, a bit of cloying holds it there. becomes sweeter and more wheaty as it warms up, blending pleasantly with the spice and fruit aromas.
