| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2004 Lightly hazed dark golden color with a dense milk colored head. Sweet caramel and honey aromas with some flowery noble hops in the background - a touch heavy. Fairly thick and slick in feel. Sweet malt flavors rule in this one. Honey, caramel, and a touch of warming alcohol. A mid echelon heller. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2004 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately hoppy (flowers), moderately malty (bread, bread, bread), with notes of honey and orange. Flavor is moderately sweet. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Too much alcohol in the finish (it’s not rich enough to bear it), but the aroma’s nice (Hallertauer for sure). YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 24, 2004 Cloudy amber with white foamy head. Sweet in the aroma and flavor. Didn't do it for me but wasn't awful either. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 27, 2004 Hazy, orange color with very small white head. Stong caramel aroma, and maltiness with alcohol. Flavor is very strange. Not nearly as caramel flavored as the aroma would suggest. Fruity overtones in the finish, and there is the alcohol burn, which is noticeable from beginning to finish. This had the aroma of a doppelbock but the flavor of a maibock brewed with somekind of hefeweizen yeast. Strange, and not at all what I would truly want in any bock. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 11, 2004 Pours a clouded orange-gold. Tall foamy white head. Nose is citrus, yeast, grains, and light hops. The taste is a creamy hop and fruit laden extravaganza. There is some definite malted sweetness in there to compliment everything. There is almost a cardboard like note at times that detracts from the taste and a hint of bubblegum. Not as bad as previously rated but not a great beer either. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2004 Surprisingly densely clouded amber appearance, little head formation. Doughy bready aroma with sweet fruits and hops. Sweet bubble gum flavors up front, fruity with a fairly bitter hop finish. LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2003 I had hoped for and expected more. Orange colored cloudy beer. Slight white head. Lemony aroma - strange. A nice creamy sweet beer. I expected much more maltiness and crispness. Long slippery finish. Sweet caramel flavor. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2003 color is medium-deep golden with a lasting thin white head. aroma is quite perfumey and fruity. lots of maltiness, but not overpowering. there's also a slight bubblegum aroma to the nose. flavor is fairly fruity with slight notes of cardboard, but not unpleasant like those in a central american lager.
