Compared to it this on has better carbonation, more spice, about the same amount of banana/peach fruit, but a more watery body. Has a nice clove and tart aftertaste with a little bit of alcohol and pepper. Very unique for a German. Would buy again. mixamatt (427), San Francisco, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 31, 2002 Peach-amber color with a crisp head. This is a wheaty beer in aroma and flavor--but the malt and bock characteristics seem absent. Woodiness and dominant spicing (coriander?) round out the attributes as well as a tinge of rauchbier like smokiness and saison like farmhouse flavors. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA

Nice carbonation giving it a creamy mouthfeel. Flavor was nice.Nothing special really tart aftertaste. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2002 Head is initially average sized, fizzy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber, dense tiny particles, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, light bread), moderately yeasty (barnyard, dough), with notes of clove, banana, lemon, toffee, cherry, and cask wood. Flavor is heavily acidic, moderately sweet. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Odd one here...has some lambic or Flanders red qualities (very sour with oaky, fruity, and barnyard scents), but for me the ’bock’ half of this brew doesn’t really show itself enough. rich42 (128), USA
