Bottle. Yellow colour with a big white head. Malty, straw aroma and a sweet malty, straw taste. Medium body with a light dry finish.

A very sweet malt aroma hangs over this golden Pils bolstered by an herbal hop bitterness that I wish would be stronger. Thick but somewhat watery, it’s got a sweet, cookie dough malt taste with a decent hop counter-balance. Mildly bitter finish, again, somewhat watery. Needs more.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden with a fairly decent head. Usually South German pilseners are less hoppy, but this really is an exception. This is bitter like hell. Aromatic from the hops but almost sickingly bitter killing my taste buds. "Wohl abgerundet" (well rounded) the label claims - my ass it ain’t. 070302

Light, grainy aroma with honey and dough. Small white head and a yellow cloudy body. Light bitter, watery with a short finish and flat carbonation.

Bottle. Pale yellow in color with a nice white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Slightly cardboard too. Hoppy and malty flavor. Ok beer.

0.5l bottle. Hazy pale yellow, nice white head. Sherried slightly oxidized aroma with a hint of hops. Nice malt with some remaining hop flavor and bitterness. A tad bit old, but still decent nonetheless.

(500 ml bottle: $2 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Pretty flavorless and innocuous beer with a slight grainy maltiness, a gentle sweetness, and barely any hops. I suppose there’s a light bitterness in the finish, but wow, there’s just not much to this beer. The nose is like a cheap pale lager. Thin palate, but fairly clean. Pale yellow in color, with a slight haze to it. Whitish head has lots of large bubbles congregating in groups, with a fairly thick film covering the beer. Ringed lacing is very detailed and fancy. Except for the pretty lacing, this is a rather poor attempt at a pilsner.

Bottle pours a slightly hazy yellow, large white rocky head, spotty lacing, with light carbonation.   Subtle grainy aroma.   Soft malts, semi-sweet, with an underlying oat like flavor on the tongue.   Average body and mouthfeel.   Finishes smooth, but quick.   Fairly clean, not crisp, but also somewhat uninteresting.   Lingering grassy note, slightly metallic.   A pounder for sure...
