Some grassy notes with a quenching finish. Not quite up to Victory Prima standards, but then what is? This is what moutbroedie like Beck’s and Miller never can be. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 10, 2004 Light yellow, good head, nice lacing. Aroma of grass and hay. Light bodied, but not watery. Spritzy hops with a bit of a pleasant herbal quality on the finish. Subtle, and quite nice. Rather badly underrated IMHO. Britales (56), Cape Charles, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Unlike a couple of the reviews that I have seen here, this is a fine example of a southern style soft Pils.Dry but not bitter, nice white head, (when poured properly)and extremely drinkable! This brewery has been producing Pils for over 100 years, one of the few for this relatively recent style! On draught an even better experience! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 25, 2006 Tap. Transparent, magnifying and pure gold brilliance in color with a creamy, foamy, sudsy, one inch thick white head. Great earthen spice aroma with pepper, scratchy sourdough, herbaceous grass, pollen semblances and a lemon bread crust outreach. Flavor doesn’t lose much ground. Low carbonation gives way to an all-out biscuit and crescent roll grasp. Musky cologne and a cool liquidity are instated henceforth. Slight lemon grass traits and cleansing pine sap serve a supporting role. Medium-to-light bodied and crisp, yet smooth over everything. Baguettes and crusty bread heels come in with a touch of wind flapping through dandelions for the finish. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Maybe it’s because it’s been a while since I’ve had a pils, but I really enjoyed this one. Spicy floral nose – big bouquet of flowers with some yeast. Pale yellow-golden body with ubiquitous, medium-strong carbonation and a rocky white lacing head. Taste is grassy and lightly bitter with nice floral overtones, light pale malt base. Bit of a crisp smack on exit. Body is on the lighter side of medium, very quaffable. Not as bitter as many a Pils, but still classically süddeutsch, and a very good one for every day – can drink a looot of this one. Ernest (4489), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 29, 2004 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted
grain), lightly hoppy (herbs). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Mild and restrained pils. TheBeerGod (3157), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2004 Had this at the Bier Garden in Portsmouth VA on 8-7-04. Slightly hazed blond body with a small white head. Aroma is slightly malted with some lighter fruit notes. Taste is mild malt mixed with dull hops and a grassy/hay hint. Palate is nicely carbonated and refreshing. Finish is suitably malted and grassy. Pretty good stuff.
