| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Right there on the label..the most terrifying three words in the beer language...."contains malt liquor." Needless to say terror engulfed me as we poured. The beer poured a light to medium yellow color with vritually no head and basically no lacing to speak of. The aroma is grainy and light with corn, malt, and an artificial sweetness likely coming from a few light spices (nutmeg) and corniness. As this warmed it definitely got a bit better, but not enough to really attract my attention. Can we say boring? Ummmm yeah! Grains, cardboard, not very carbonated either. Totally neutral liquid here... not much going on...no alcohol presence and little in the way of spices. Im not impressed or disappointed..just sort of sleepy! beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2004 Pours a very light orange/golden, glowing transparent, with a soft white head. Aroma is lightly sweet and earthy malt with a hint of light caramel. Taste started a bit watery and bland but all of a sudden this great caramel/honey thick malt flavor warms through the taste really improving this brew a ton. Very light hopping in the finish. Trailing honey clings to the palate in the aftertaste. As this brew warms up a bit on the palate this brew really starts to improve. Reid (1092), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2004 I think this is the same beer..says Winterfestival on the label..suppose it is the English version..label looks the same otherwise.
Bought in the euro-style pint bottle, nice shiny/sparkly label.
Quite an unusual appearance, its almost murky like a hefe weissen, slightly darker gold though with a pure white head.
Smell is mostly quite malty for a German beer, with some linger spicy tones.
Very malty taste again and balanced by peppery spiciness, some hops evident at the end.
Exceptionally smooth on the palate.
Nice easy drinking winter beer..

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2004 This was a good break in a session that featured lots of heavy Imperial stouts and bocks. Grain and light pear aroma, with a bread yeastiness. Hazy gold, absolutely great label. Grainy, fairly bland, yeasty, light sweetness. Quick finish, bready with a bit of lime. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2003 Light hops and yeast in the aroma. Nice light golden color with a rapidly disappearing head. The taste is sweet, maybe some kind of candy sugar is in there. argo0 (6998), Washington DC, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 12, 2003 Quickly dissipating medium off-white head atop a clear golden body. Aroma is medium sweet, cookie dough, apple juice, light ginger. Taste is light-medium sweet, apple, light grassy and bread, finishing apple and light grassy. Light-medium body. Not bad, but there's nothing to it that would make me want to buy it again. mixamatt (427), San Francisco, California, USA
